Key features

Cap pink-salmon with distinct concentric zones, margin strongly inrolled and characteristically shaggy/woolly (diagnostic feature). Milk white, unchanging, very acrid and burning. Mycorrhizal with birch. In Poland conditionally edible after long soaking and blanching (pickling tradition); raw, it causes severe stomach poisoning.
