Key features

Cap white, cream-ochre with age, funnel-shaped, dry. Gills very crowded, narrow, running down the stem (diagnostic: much more crowded than in L. vellereus). Milk white, abundant, unchanging, EXTREMELY acrid/burning (like pepper). Inedible in the EU; the tradition of pickling in the east requires long soaking.
