Key features

Fruit body of overlapping, fan-shaped caps, bright sulfur yellow to orange, juicy when young, crumbly and fading when old. Spore-bearing surface of tubes, sulfur yellow, with fine pores; flesh yellowish, juicy at first, sour smell. Edible only when young and after heat treatment; specimens from conifers may cause ailments.
