Key features

Very similar to the saffron milkcap found under pine, but the cap is paler, orange-pinkish, with weaker concentric zones. The orange milk turns green quickly (within minutes) on exposure to air: the key feature distinguishing it from L. deliciosus. Mycorrhizal only with spruce; flesh good to eat but of lower quality than the saffron milkcap.
