Key features

Cap liver brown to yellowish brown, much darker than in the Fly Agaric, covered with dirty yellow warts from the veil; margin slightly striate. Stem yellowish with a yellowish ring and a bulbous base with concentric remnants of the volva; typical of northern spruce forests and mountain areas of Poland.

The Royal fly agaric has a BROWN cap with white/yellow scales; the Fly Agaric has a RED cap with white scales. Both are toxic (ibotenic acid and muscimol); both should essentially be discarded.
